“At Neuro Community Care, we work with an individual toward his/her goals for as long as it takes. We explore all the resources we find useful. The work is client-centered. The clients, family members, and my fellow team members inspire me every day.”

Lisa has worked as an occupational therapist (OT) for 23 years. Originally from Orlando, FL, she has a BA in Biology from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, and an MA in Occupational Therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Lisa has provided clinical occupational services in home health, acute care hospital, skilled nursing facilities, and continuous care retirement centers, and has conducted independent living assessments for North Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation.

Her primary focus as an OT and day activity program coordinator has been residential and community re-entry for persons with brain injury. Lisa has volunteered as a rape crisis counselor and a baseball coach. More recently, she served as an instructor in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Durham Technical Community College. She also assists in life skills classes at an Urban Ministries homeless shelter in Durham County.
