Professional Development Opportunities

February 2022

We are keeping busy here at Neuro Community Care! As we continue to offer Virtual Independence Program (VIP) sessions focused on art, cooking, writing, and music, we are also adding VIP Clubs!

These clubs will be another chance for warriors and caregivers to share ideas and build community over hobbies. Our “VIP Movie Club” has been active since this past October and we’re planning to add Lego, mindfulness, and gaming groups to the mix within the next few months.

In addition, we’re always looking for warriors to lead workshops on a topic of their choice. We love to see our CSS community support our warriors in these endeavors – talk with your case manager for more information about these programs.

Creative Arts Corner:

Unhinged by Angie L.

I dream in shades of camouflage
Just below the surface of consciousness
Sleep is for the willing
My head is tied in knots of horror

wAvEs I cannot see
Rush in… And OUT
Echo Echo
I feel the breeze push against my movement
And I am paralyzed again

I am watching real life on a screen
And I am trapped inside
It plays
Over… And OVER
wAvEs
EchoEcho
Paralyzed
Repeat

I dream in shades of camouflage
Just below the surface of consciousness
Mothers cry and scream at me
Holding all RED
They can’t let go
I can’t hold on

wAvEs I cannot see
Rush in… And OUT
Echo
Echo
