Nerissa has served individuals with developmental delays/disabilities, brain injuries and neurological conditions for over 20 years. Her experience includes serving individuals in the classroom and community as a teacher, community based rehabilitative specialist and service coordinator.

Nerissa graduated with a B.S. in speech language pathology from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Professional experiences as well as personal experiences with family members have given her the opportunity to understand how traumatic brain injury affections individuals and families short term as well as long term.

Nerissa lives in Raleigh with her husband and 3 children. She enjoys yoga, various art projects, cooking, reading and relaxing in the mountains with family.
